Architecture Photography Workshops & Courses

Architecture photography workshops and courses for photographers who want to move from recording buildings to reading them. Private one-to-one mentoring, small-group workshops, and festival sessions, taught by an award-winning architectural photographer across Dubai, Riyadh, and internationally.

Who This Is For

Photographers and enthusiasts who want to build a serious architectural body of work, architecture and design students moving into visual practice, and professionals adding architecture to their range. Sessions are pitched to the level of the room, from foundational to advanced.

This is not a gear demo. It is a workshop about seeing: composition, light, the reading of a building, and the discipline that separates architectural photography from property documentation.

Formats

Private one-to-one mentoring built entirely around your goals and your portfolio. Small-group workshops with fieldwork on real buildings and a review of your images. Festival and institutional sessions, including work with the Xposure International Photography Festival and Red Sea Global.

Every format combines a field shoot with a structured critique, because the learning is in the edit as much as the capture.

What the Workshop Covers

The core of every architecture photography workshop is the same: how to read a building before you photograph it. Orientation, the movement of light through the day, the relationship between a structure and its surroundings, and the compositional decisions that make an image feel like the space rather than a record of it.

The technical ground is covered without turning into a gear lecture: working with natural light, managing perspective and verticals, exposure for extreme tonal range, and a fine-art-realistic approach to the edit. Medium format is used and discussed, but the principles apply to any camera.

Private and Group Photography Courses

A private photography course is the fastest way to progress: a session shaped entirely around your work, shot on a real building, followed by a portfolio review that is honest and specific. Group workshops add the value of shooting the same subject alongside others and seeing how differently it can be read.

Sessions run in Dubai and Riyadh and can be arranged around a specific project, festival, or destination. Institutional and festival programmes are scoped individually.

Workshops Across the Gulf

Architecture photography workshops run from working bases in Dubai and Riyadh, with sessions delivered for festivals, institutions, and private groups across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Past and current programmes include the Xposure International Photography Festival in Sharjah and workshop work with Red Sea Global.

Destination and project-based workshops, built around a specific landmark or development, are available on request.

What Is Included
Field Shoot
A real building or location, not a classroom. The workshop is built around shooting, with guidance in the field as you work.
Structured Critique
An honest, specific review of your images. The edit is where most of the learning happens, so it is a core part of every session.
Reading a Building
How to approach a structure before the camera comes out: orientation, light, context, and intent.
Technical Foundations
Natural light, perspective and verticals, exposure for extreme range, and a fine-art-realistic approach to processing.
Portfolio Direction
Guidance on building a coherent architectural body of work and where it belongs, from publication to awards.
Flexible Formats
Private one-to-one, small-group, or festival and institutional sessions, in Dubai, Riyadh, or on location.

Both. Sessions are pitched to the level of the room, from foundational to advanced. The focus is on seeing and reading a building rather than gear, so photographers at any stage take something specific away.
