The scale of architectural development in Riyadh under Vision 2030 is unlike anywhere else in the world. KAFD, the new cultural quarter, mega-development master plans — the ambition of the built environment here demands photography that can match it. A Riyadh commission is not a straightforward building shoot. It involves coordination with government bodies, restricted site access, drone permit management under GACA, and the logistics of operating across a city where projects are measured in square kilometres rather than floors.
This is familiar territory. The KAFD commission alone covered 90 buildings over the course of a year. The experience of operating at that scale in Riyadh, with all the access and coordination complexity it involves, is not something most photographers can bring.
King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) — the world's largest LEED Platinum certified mixed-use development, featuring buildings by Zaha Hadid, Foster + Partners, and Henning Larsen. The commission spanned over a year and produced thousands of images across ground, aerial, and film formats.
