House of Wisdom

Commissioned by Delta Lighting Solutions to photograph House of Wisdom, designed by Foster + Partners in Sharjah, UAE. Delta Lighting Solutions designed the lighting of the project, and their work was exceptional. Working on a Foster + Partners project was a meaningful milestone, and being part of documenting their work for one of the region's most significant cultural institutions carried real weight.

The twilight and blue hour revealed the full intention behind the lighting design, where the warmth of the interior light contrasted against the cool evening sky in a way that felt effortless. The water reflection at the entrance completed the scene and became one of the defining images of the project.

The building moves between interior and exterior in layers, each transition requiring a different exposure strategy to hold detail in both the bright exterior and the interior space simultaneously. Both Foster + Partners and Delta Lighting Solutions licensed the work for their own use. The project received the Architizer A+ Award for Best Architectural Photography.
