The Eastern Province Malls
Nakheel Mall Dammam, Dhahran Mall and Jubail Mall were each shot from the air for Cenomi, part of a programme that ran to thirty-two shooting days across the Kingdom, ground and aerial together.
Covering three sites in one region on one trip is a scheduling exercise more than a photographic one. Each mall has a single usable dusk window, they are an hour or more apart, and only one can be shot per evening. The sunrise frames exist because the alternative was another week in the Eastern Province.
Industrial Work
The Eastern Province is where the industrial commissions sit. Work in Dammam and Jubail has included Manitowoc Cranes and KanRent, subjects where the aerial frame is not decoration: the scale of a machine or a yard against its surroundings is the entire point, and at ground level there is no vantage that contains it.
Industrial sites also bring their own airspace problems, sitting near ports, refineries and restricted zones. GACA clearance is arranged in advance and, where a permit cannot be had, an elevated position is identified during pre-production instead.
Working Across the Kingdom
Dammam is rarely a standalone trip. It sits in the same commissions as Jeddah and Riyadh, which is what makes multi-site retail and industrial programmes practical to deliver at a consistent standard.
That Riyadh work includes the KAFD district aerials, one of which took 1st Place in Cityscapes at the International Photography Awards 2025.
